About Me
I’m Justice McCollum, a Dallas & New York City based luxury sales professional, freelance writer, stylist, creative, and lifelong student of fashion, art, design, and culture.
My career began in luxury retail, where I discovered that the most meaningful part of selling is rarely the transaction itself. It is the relationship behind it. I’ve built my career around understanding people — their tastes, interests, aspirations, and the stories they want to tell through the things they choose to surround themselves with.
Working across luxury fashion, including experience with RIMOWA, Jil Sander, and freelance clients, has allowed me to develop an approach that combines sales strategy with styling, storytelling, visual presentation, and creative direction. Whether I’m helping someone build a wardrobe, developing a lookbook, managing a showroom, planning an event, or working with a client to find the right object for their home, I’m interested in the same question:
How can the things we choose reflect who we are?
That question extends far beyond fashion.
I’m fascinated by the relationship between people and the environments they create around themselves. Fashion, architecture, interiors, art, literature, theater, and even the objects we collect can become extensions of our identities. I enjoy finding the connections between these disciplines and using them to develop new ideas, visual concepts, and experiences.
My creative interests have led me into areas including fashion and home styling, visual merchandising, design consultation, photography, writing, creative direction, event styling, and content creation. I previously hosted Composition Conversation, a podcast exploring creative perspectives through conversation, where I developed content, wrote scripts, managed guests, edited episodes, and handled social media engagement.
I’m particularly drawn to work that allows different disciplines and personalities to intersect. I enjoy being the person who can see both the individual details and the larger picture — understanding how the pieces of a business, project, or creative endeavor can work together cohesively.
What Inspires Me
My creative influences span centuries and mediums.
In fashion, I’m drawn to designers who challenge convention and treat clothing as a form of artistic expression, including Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Ann Demeulemeester, Vivienne Westwood, A-Cold-Wall, KidSuper, Feng Chen Wang, JW Anderson, and Collina Strada.
My interests in art range from Baroque and Art Nouveau to Art Deco, Neoclassicism, Surrealism, Post-Impressionism, Conceptualism, and the Harlem Renaissance. I’m especially interested in how artistic movements reflect the social and cultural environments that produced them.
Literature, comics, anime, and theater provide another source of inspiration. I’m drawn to stories that explore identity, society, power, imagination, and the relationship between individuals and the worlds they inhabit.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me reading, writing, thrifting, antiquing, working on DIY projects, creating mood boards, exploring interior design, taking photographs, traveling, or developing creative ideas. I also enjoy comics, anime, and Dungeons & Dragons — anything that encourages world-building, storytelling, and imagination.
What I Bring to My Work
My professional experience has taught me that creativity and business are not opposing forces.
Strong creative work requires organization. Great customer experiences require empathy. Successful businesses require people who can see how individual parts fit into a larger system.
I bring a combination of relationship-building, luxury sales, client advising, creative direction, storytelling, visual presentation, operations, networking, team development, and problem-solving to the work I do.
I’m also intentionally curious.
I believe a career should not simply be a progression of titles. It should be an accumulation of skills, experiences, perspectives, and challenges. I’m interested in opportunities that push me into unfamiliar territory, allow me to learn something new, and give me the opportunity to contribute creatively while continuing to grow.
Ultimately, I’m interested in people, stories, and the things we create around ourselves — whether that is a wardrobe, a room, a business, a brand, a conversation, or an entirely new creative idea.
I’m always looking for the next opportunity to learn, create, collaborate, and make something meaningful.
